This concept was developed for a site in the heart of Beverly Hills, capturing sweeping property views extending from Downtown LA to the ocean. The outcome is an expression of the lightness and openness of the classic single-story Case Study era home, yet grounded in the sculptural stone anchoring it to the earth from which it arises. A contrast between heaviness and lightness, the home floats above the city with a dramatic indoor/outdoor living experience. A powerful entry experience moves one past the double-edge waterfall pool, under a dramatically cantilevered living room to the rear of the home, where a stunning sculpturally-framed property view greets the entry of the home.

Susan led and developed the design of the residence. This project was accomplished while working at Belzberg Architects.
